The Wise Women’s Council Is Back for a Fall Cohort

by Sep 20, 2022Community, Wise Women's Council

The Wise Women’s Council is back and accepting enrollments for our our next cohort this October 2022. We only open a few weeks each year for enrollment. If you’re looking to join a supportive, expansive, brilliant group of moms that are also founders, leaders & business creatives, then check out The Wise Women’s Council, a leadership incubator and community like nothing else out there.

A LEADERSHIP INCUBATOR FOR BUSINESS MOMS

When I built Startup Parent, I began by interviewing hundreds of women for the podcast, and then later for our leadership programs. What I heard from hundreds of women was how unbelievably lonely it was to be at the intersection of leadership and entrepreneurship AND parenting. As a mom, it felt isolating to be juggling both work and career, and finding time to meet other parents in a similar space felt next to impossible.

So I set out to help these tired business moms make life-long friends.

At first, I put together a small group of business leaders to come together with honesty and compassion about how challenging building a career can be when you’re a mother. What started as a small group circle five years ago has blossomed into an incredible program for mid-career and executive women navigating the next moves in their lives.

“I loved everything about the program. SKP is brilliant at holding space, providing sparks for connections, and letting go of any attachment of a plan in service of meeting the group where they are and what they are needing.” — Alicia Jabbar

“This is a landing place of brilliance amongst the chaotic backdrop of parenting and working,” two-time alumni Alicia Jabbar described it.

“I was surprised at how deeply I got to know these women over the course of the year,” Lee Price, another alumni said. “ I found companionship, friendship, business support, cheerleaders, and new ideas. I tell so many people now that they should join WWC!

WHAT IS THE WISE WOMEN’S COUNCIL?

WWC is a leadership incubator for business moms. If you’re an expecting, new, or seasoned mom and you want to be around other powerful women in business, this is the space for you to be around other working moms that get it.

We are a practice space for learning how to design your life and your business to be well-suited to your dreams, needs, and ambitions. We gather every month for connection, learning, coaching, and integration. This is not a passive course or a massive platform. This is a community of women to get to know deeply over the next six or twelve months.

Every month, I curate a roster of guest speakers, a book club, small-group coaching sessions, and a breakout cohort for every single member. I’ve designed the program based on the research of friendship and connection that shows we need around 90 hours to develop deep connections. (This time is spread out over a year, so it’s around 8 hours per month that we gather).

My background is in psychology and design, and I use this to create strong containers for conversation. Then I bring seasoned experts in business, money, marketing, and entrepreneurship to help people lean into their business and career next-steps.
